Obituary for Aretha White

Mrs. Aretha June (Kelley) White, age 55, a resident of Midway Road in Belington, departed this life late Monday evening May 22, 2017 in the comforts of her home surrounded by her family, following a period of declining health.

She was born on June 4, 1961 at Elkins, WV, a daughter of the late Eugene Brisco and Alma Marie Thompson Kelley. On September 9, 1981 at Oakland, Maryland, she was united in marriage to Mickey Lee White, who survives at their home.

Additional survivors include three children; Misty Phillips and husband Buster of Junior, Stacy Kelley and husband Wesley Talbert of Belington, and Brandon White and companion Billie of Philippi, two brothers; Carl and Alfred Kelley both of Philippi, and nine grandchildren; Sierra and Riley Everson, Chuckie, Alma, Liza, and Maria Phillips, and Trintin, Chelsea, and Lynn Cade, and one special friend; Billy Everson.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister: Linda Lee (Kelley) Trader, one infant brother and one infant sister.

Aretha attended the schools of Barbour County and was a homemaker. She was Methodist by faith and loved her grandchildren very much and looked forward to spending time with each and every one of them. She loved going to the dirt track races at Kerens, and was a loving mother, wife, sister, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington from 6-9 pm on Thursday May 25, 2017 and again on Friday May 26, 2017 from 8am – 11am the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will then follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery near Philippi. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com.
