Obituary for Saundra Kay Coontz (Alltop)

Mrs. Saundra Kay Alltop Coontz, age 62, a resident of Deer Path Lane, Belington, departed this life Tuesday evening October 10, 2017 at her home, she had been declining in health but death was unexpected.

She was born October 28, 1954 at Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Harold Forest and Mary Hazel James Alltop. On July 7, 1972 she was united in marriage to Stanley Lee Coontz, who survives at their residence.

She is survived by three daughters; Kelly Coontz, Lori Wilson, and Devan Moore and husband Gary all of Belington, four grandchildren; Cody Coontz and companion Kiana, Morgan Huffman and husband Aaron, Skylar Moore, and Conner Wilson, two great grandchildren; Jayden Huffman and Colton Coontz, and her very special friend; Gia McClean. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a whole host of friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother; Gary James Alltop.

Saundra was a graduate of the Philip Barbour High School with the class of 1972 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belington. She loved to volunteer and was very active and devoted many years to the Special Olympics of Barbour County. She loved and cared for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 6-9 pm and again on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 8 am – 2 pm the funeral hour with the Rev. Downing Gregory officiating. Interment will then follow in the Talbott Cemetery at Belington. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to The Special Olympics of Barbour County 5 Deer Path Lane Belington, WV 26250. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Saundra Kay Alltop Coontz.
