Mrs. Sis Mae Payne McLean, age 56, a resident of Rock Run Road, Belington, departed this life Tuesday October 24, 2017 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV, following a period of declining health.

She was born February 5, 1961 at Elkins, WV, a daughter of Harry R “Buddy” and Shirley Jean Cross Payne, who survive at Belington. On September 17, 1982 she was united in marriage to Jeffrey Clay McLean, who survives at their residence.

She is survived by one son; Alex McLean of Morgantown, one brother; Harry Lynn Payne and wife Tammy of Belington, two sisters; Lavada Yokum and husband Mike of Elkins and Deanna Williams and husband Danny of Grafton, mother-in-law; Anna Belle McLean of Belington. Additional survivors included Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a whole host of friends.

Sis was a graduate from the Philip Barbour High School with the class of 1979. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church at Philippi and was homemaker. She was previously employed at Okarita’s dress shop in Belington; she formerly worked as a clerk for the town of Belington, was a secretary for the Eastern Intermountain Energy, she had previously worked for the Durbin-Greenbrier Railroad. She was active in the Barbour County Visitors Bureau and the Laurel Mountain Civil War Reenactment Committee. She loved to plant flowers and crochet in her spare time. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Saturday, October 28, 2017 from 12-2 pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00pm with the Rev. Father Jim O’Conner officiating. Per Sis’s request cremation was honored. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Sis Mae Payne McLean.
