Mr. Thomas Lee “Tommy” Daugherty, age 73years a resident of Custer Street in Belington, departed this life Sunday October 29, 2017 at his residence, following a period of declining health.

He was born November 16, 1943 at Philippi, WV, a son of the late Thomas Mark and Wanda Lolita Dadisman Daugherty. On February 11, 1961 he was united in marriage to the former Carol June Gibson who survives at their home.

He is survived by one daughter; Tammy Weaver and husband Jack of Philippi, one son; Thomas E. “Buzzy” Daugherty and wife Mindy of Millstone, New Jersey, two sisters; Bobby Crouse of Bridgeport and Dorinda Romano and husband Joe of Nutterfort. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Drew and Jared Wilmoth, Zackary, Brielle, and Alexandria Daugherty, and two great grandchildren; Landon and Olivia Wilmoth. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Daugherty.

Tommy attended the schools of Barbour County and was a Protestant by faith. He was formerly employed thru the IBEW Union Local #596 of Clarksburg as a journeyman wireman from which he retired. He was also a member of the Belington Masonic Lodge #125 AF & AM, the Tygart’s Valley Royal Arch Chapter #39, the Scottish Rite Masons, the Tygart Valley Shrine Club, and belonged to the Osiris Shriners Temple of Wheeling. Tommy was an avid hunter and fisherman and really enjoyed being outdoors and was quite the handyman when it came to working on older vehicles. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Graveside Service will be conducted from the Concord Cemetery near Belington on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm with the Pastor Johnny Williams II officiating. The Belington Masonic Lodge #125 AF & AM will conduct Ritualistic Graveside service and interment will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Concord Cemetery c/o Brian Poling P.O. Box 231 Belington, WV 26250. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com.
