Obituary for Judy Canterbury (Talbott)

Mrs. Judy Marlene Talbott Poling Canterbury, age 70, a resident of Ashburn, VA, departed this life Friday morning August 17, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Death was following a period of declining health.

She was born January 26, 1948 at Belington, WV, a daughter of the late Luther Alexander and Evelyn Virginia Golden Talbott. On November 21, 2008 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Ray Canterbury, who survives at their home in Virginia.

In addition to her husband she is survived by three children; Todd Poling and wife Tuul of Ashburn, Virginia, Cindy Cogley and husband Jeffrey of Leesburg, Virginia, and Jodie Marshaus and husband Kevin of Fuquay - Varina, North Carolina, two brothers; Dorsey Talbott and wife Jeanie of Belington and Marvin Talbott and wife Dianne of Belington, two sisters; June Dickenson and husband Joe of Philippi and Brenda Foy and husband Larry of Belington. Additional survivors include five grandchildren; Amara and Nara Poling, Aiden and Kameron Cogley, Hailey Marshaus, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother; Milford Talbott and one sister; Carolyn Sue Southerly.

Mrs. Canterbury was a 1965 graduate of the Philip Barbour High School and was Methodist by faith. She was previously employed with Equifax where she worked as an Administrative Assistant in the financial services department from which she retired. She loved her family and grandchildren very much and looked forward to each and every visit from them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N Brandenburg Street in Belington on Wednesday August 22, 2018 from 6-9 pm and again on Thursday August 23, 2018 from 8 am – 11 am the funeral hour with the Rev. Jimmie E. Tallman officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery in Belington. The Talbott Funeral Home of Belington is in charge of the arrangements for Judy Marlene Talbott Canterbury. Condolences can be made to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com
