Obituary for Robert Dale White

Mr. Robert Dale White, age 77, a former resident of West Virginia and a many year resident of Canton, Ohio, departed this life Monday January 20, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his family. Death was following a period of declining health.

He was born June 2, 1942, at Elkins, WV, a son of the late Forest E. and Geneva Maxine Clayton White. On December 24, 1965, he was united in marriage to the former Joyce Lee Ramsey who survives at their home in Canton, Ohio.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters; Hope L Boden and husband Wayne of Grover Hill, Ohio and Angela M. Daniell and husband Andrew of Bath Ohio, and one sister; Martha E. White of Belington. Additional survivors include four grandchildren; Tyler and Kayla Sharrard and Anderson and Ashton Daniell, and a close family friend; Carol Stalnaker, whom he thought of as a sister.

Preceding him in death beside his parents are two sisters; Shirley Walker and Deloris Hedrick, one brother James E. White, and one granddaughter; Alysha Sharrard.

Mr. White had attended the schools of Randolph County and was a member the Louisville Baptist Temple. He was a proud Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was previously employed by Babbock-Wilcox as a boiler maker from which he retired. He was formerly employed with the Bio Curve Tongue Sweep, from which he also retired. He was a member of the Boiler Makers Union and a member of the H.W. Daniels Post #29 American Legion of Elkins WV. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

On Friday January 24, 2020 at 1:00 pm a graveside service will be conducted from the Little Arlington Cemetery at Harpertown, WV where full military rites will be accorded by the H. W. Daniels American Legion Post #29 of Elkins, and the VFW post # 3647 of Elkins with the assistance of United States Marine Corps, with the Pastor Aaron Dowler officiating.
